In the video KLFY Jerry Lewis Telethon Bob & Doug SCTV, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was featured on SCTV for the show’s third season when it moved to CBC Television in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by actor Rick Moranis and the character Doug is acted by Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as fluff to both please and makes jokes about legal Canadian content legislation, the brothers transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
