In the video Late Night with Conan O’Brien – Rick Moranis – 02/03/2006, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of imaginaryfunny Canadian family members who created “Great White North”, a improv which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob McKenzie is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as filler to both fulfill and laugh about silly Canadian content statutes, the duo became a pop culture success in both Canada and the United States. The characters went on to become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
