In the video Little Shop of Horror Suddenly Seymour, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of strange Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was featured on CBC Television in the eighties. The character Bob McKenzie is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is acted by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as a skit to both follow guidelines and mock dumb Canadian content laws, the brothers turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and America. The McKenzie brothers enetually would become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

I was robbed of the experience of seeing this scene a child with the original intended ending.

"For losers like I've BEEN" as she climbs the stairs out of the "gutta" to a joyous "Suddenly Seymour" was super powerful to me. I can't get enough of this performance and those absolute EXPLOSIVE vocals.

The epitome of a role that was utterly and impossibly to be adequately performed by anyone since. It must have been a blessing and a curse to EG, a totally unique and unforgettable embodiment of her role. She is Audrey. And there will never be another.

I typed in "Suddenly" in the search bar, and suddenly seymour came up by itself. I hadn't thought about this in 35 years, damn near 40 years. But here I am.
I remember being just a little child when I watched this and I thought it was such a weird movie. I remember it was a late Friday night and no school the next day. I didn’t understand musicales as a kid but I remember it captivated me. Only seen it once and I think I’m due for second time now.
Why did she speak like that in this film – its so bloody annoying when she has amazing singing voice
