In the video Little Shop of Horrors – Somewhere That’s Green, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of made up Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a sketch which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sent to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s partThe character Bob is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was created originally as fluff to both please and mock stupid Canadian content guidelines, the two morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
