Bob and Doug McKenzie in Little Shop of Horrors – Suddenly Seymour
In the video Little Shop of Horrors – Suddenly Seymour, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of imaginaryfunny Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was featured on CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is played by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as filler to both satisfy and make fun of network Canadian content demands, the brothers turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The two soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

I think originally the song was "Suddenly Someone"
I'll find her voice so perfect for that role..
Love stories
I fell in love with this song, unexpectedly, the first time I saw this movie in its original release (at a drive-in that was long ago demolished). But when I bought the original soundtrack album, I immediately noticed the arrangement was different. For the film, there is orchestral "sweetening" (I think that's how they referred to it). The album version lacks those subtle horns & quietly sweeping strings, which lift the number even more emotionally & spiritually. I guess those enhancements were added to the mix late, but it was a good call. For that reason, I have to listen to the dvd in headphones to hear "Suddenly Seymour" the way it sounded on my very first listen, but at least that's an option! Thanks for sharing.
Finally a video of it without all the lead in dialogue! The end feels a little abrupt since the music is still going, but this is still the best video of the song I can find on YouTube.
Thank you for this!
