Bob’s part is performed by actor Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Which was brought to life originally as filler to both satisfy and laugh about stupid Canadian content legislation, the duo morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
