In the video LIVE: ABC News Live – Wednesday, January 10 | ABC News, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a segment which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s character is played by Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as a skit to both please and laugh about network Canadian content demands, the two turned into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the United States. The brothers soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
