In the video Livestream #64 – Got Xmas music?, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian family members who can been seen in “Great White North”, a skit which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by Dave Thomas. The sketch was created originally as an idea to both satisfy and mock network Canadian content legislation, the siblings transformed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The pair enetually would become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
