In the video Long Live Rock: Drummers part 1 of 3: Take Off to Great White North WTF, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of strange Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was featured on second city television for the show’s third season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob’s character is played by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is created by comic Dave Thomas. Which was developed originally as a sketch to both follow guidelines and laugh about network Canadian content policies, the characters became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
