The character Bob McKenzie is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by Dave Thomas. Although brought to life originally as fluff to both please and make fun of dumb Canadian content legislation, the two turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
