In the video Matt Reed dies on live TV – NBC 10 Sunrise, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian brothers who created “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob McKenzie is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is created by comic Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as an idea to both please and laugh about network Canadian content statutes, the brothers turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
