Bob and Doug McKenzie in Matty Goldberg – “Rick Moranis”

In the video Matty Goldberg – “Rick Moranis”, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s character is acted by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as an idea to both satisfy and makes jokes about annoying Canadian content legislation, the two transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The characters soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
