Bob and Doug McKenzie in Merry Christmas from Bob and Doug!

In the video Merry Christmas from Bob and Doug!, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of odd Canadian actors who can been seen in “Great White North”, a program which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. The character Bob McKenzie is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as a skit to both satisfy and mock silly Canadian content laws, the brothers became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the US. The characters soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
