In the video Michael McDonald on Rick Moranis Skit #michaelmcdonald #christophercross #shorts, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of strange Canadian comedians who starred in “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on second city television for the show’s third season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Which was made originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and laugh about network Canadian content policies, the two grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings went on to become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

television I had just left Pat Simmons
room but he goes man I got this pot
you’re not going to believe we only take
a couple hits this the landbased J I
made it to my room I somehow got the key
in the door and this thing is in in
progress on television I remember
thinking that guy really looks familiar
and it was Rick Moranis dressed as me
and I thought I’m losing it I’m I’m
having a hallucinations you know as it
played out I realized this is secv and
it’s a skit I think Rick Moranis
actually apologized to me years later I
said no man I said I’ve gotten more
mileage out of that oh my God it was so
hilarious
