In the video Mr. Coffee – SPACEBALLS (1987), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a improv which was televised on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it moved to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s part is acted by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as fluff to both satisfy and mock dumb Canadian content statutes, the duo grew up to be a pop culture success in both Canada and America. The brothers soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
