In the video Mr. Lube Ad with Bob & Doug McKenzie (1993), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a improv which was streamed on second city television for the show’s third season when it moved to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s character is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. Although brought to life originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and laugh at silly Canadian content legislation, the characters turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The characters enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
