Bob and Doug McKenzie in Mr. Lube Dave Thomas Rick Moranis (80’s)

In the video Mr. Lube Dave Thomas Rick Moranis (80’s), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian actors who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as a sketch to both fulfill and makes jokes about non sensical Canadian content rules, the siblings morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The characters soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
