In the video Muppet Songs: Rick Moranis – High Hopes, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hysterical Canadian brothers who created “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s partThe character Bob is played by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is performed by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as fluff to both please and laugh at non sensical Canadian content rules, the brothers transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the US. The brothers soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
