Bob McKenzie is created by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is acted by actor Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and mock network Canadian content legislation, the characters turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The two enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
