  1. I had to check out Lee Aaron after watching your video, really like what I heard.  Few minutes later found her first two albums being sold as a lot at a good price and snatched them up. 🙂

  2. That's not trading LJ , that's a collection arriving in the post! Just been away for 2 weeks and catching up on videos. I'll check on my laptop tonight , for some reason I can't seem to find any easy option to check messages and responses to messages I've sent using the iPad without finding the original video , YT really messed up when they upgraded the format – john

  3. Wow, I'm lucky that the stuff I mail out doesn't get opened – I'm sure I am breaking some decency laws… I had that Queen 8track!  Ottavio does it again – very nice!  Lee Aaron, what a babe.

  4. There is no way you actually want that box of Awesome ness there. You should send it here. Those records look brand new!! even the 8 tracks.! Killer score there, I need another beer!! yes!!yes!!yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! great vid brother!!

  5. I too have a terribly scratched copy of "The Originals" that I acquired yeeeaarrs ago at a little junk store for probably a buck. Always looking out for a cleaner copy. My question is, what label was that? I know it's Casablanca (mine is the tan desert label) but didn't they release multi-colored labels too? It looked like the label you held up was orange but that may not have even been the same record. Just curious. Always on the look out for the super-duper rare Japanese press of The Originals II. That would be awesome!

  6. I almost forgot about your last video here. Looks like "wonderful' is the key word here.
Talk about the "love" in love train. Very generous of both Ottavio and James.

I think I was talking about the Teenage Head album with either O or 707 Mark. I was looking for a nice original copy but I could not find one anywhere including eBay. The Link Wray/Gordon album is fantastic. Good old Link. Was he indeed the first guitarist known to get credited for the power chord? He may be. I know that Page and a few others loved his early playing. Jimmy Page listens to Link Wray's 1958 Power Chord/Distortion Classic called Rumble  Its only two minutes. Give it a whirl. If you look to the top right of the screen {over Jimmy's left shoulder} you will see one of my prize possessions for Blimp boots. It is called 'The Can'. There were about 2 or 300 pressed. All colored vinyl and housed {you guessed it} in a can.

Anyways, always good to see you brother Lj. That wall of Strawberries is looking mighty cool behind you.

Did I see right on my Weather Channel app? A picture of a sun with no clouds around it for both weekend days? Miracles do exist in Massachusetts. You know where I will be. I hope that you will be doing something fun besides working. This is the weekend to catch up with the outdoors. The endless summer is on the downwave. Catch it now while you can.

Talk to you soon. Love to Renee and high five to Spence.

    Rob/Boston

  7. Hey Lj! I had seen your video but I had time to post a comment until now, I'm on a trip and I haven't been able to upload more videos. Man, great albums there, Rush on Anthem! I've heard that some originals on Anthem sound better than other editions! I probably have some vinyl to trade man, something you're looking for or maybe some vinyl you may find interesting, maybe you have something I'm looking for. My sister is going back to Houston Tx in a week and I can tell her to mail it to you. But Anyway, I'm back next week and I can give you a list of what I'm willing to trade if you agree. Great video man, as always. have a nice week end! – IQ

  8. Holy Crap, I was listening to The Swans thru headphones and clicked on your video and something about your intro music with those twos sounds converging, broke apart some covalent bonds in my molecular makeup..anyway, as one can see with this video, so many great Canadian Bands that never got the recognition in the states they deserved. My moment of serendipity was seeing Ian Thomas and Robert Gordon, I have been bingeing on SCTV, (ten times funnier that SNL), and those two guys were musical guests. Head writer and performer Dave Thomas (Great White North Doug McKenzie), and Ian are brothers, so I guess that is how he got on the show. Dave wrote Ian into the storyline, and Ian is actually very very funny and did a great job acting in the skits.

  9. Excellent stuff!! The Spoons Arias & Symphonies is 100% New Wave. I think in the U.S. the only recognizable track would be the song Nova Heart, though I think the whole album is excellent, especially the song 'Blow Away'. Blue Peter is kind of Roxy Music crossed with Talking Heads. Their most famous song is Don't Walk on Past (you can find the video on youtube), but you have the EP Up to You, which has the song 'Chinese Graffiti' which is pretty good.

  10. Hey LJ, some Awesome VCLT from Spudboy there. That Teenage Head album is actually a remixed repress of the original.  I have both.  The Original was on IGM records (long defunct).  The mix on it was always rough but nonetheless one of my all time favourite records from a band from my home town.  The copy you have has the same tracks but in a different order.  The remixing actually helped some of those tracks sound better not that they really needed to.  You would have loved to see this band live  The Ian Thomas Glider album is a nice breezy listen, another guy from my home town of Hamilton, Ontario.

  11. Hey Brother LJ, OK, I'm locked and loaded for another awesome BioCYTE1 vid, if I drank I too would have myself a Bud ready to slam! OK, let's go! James hits you up with News of the World, Draw the Line and Waylon and Jessie on 8-track! Very cool! And the Mighty Ottavio joining in from the Great White North. 9 on a 10 scale to get things started? Sweet! JAPAN!!!!!!!!!! Holy Toledo!! Congrats on that one bro. Rush Archives too? Damn!! OK, I'm officially geeking out over that one! So, in conclusion, Ottavio really didn't send you much did he? Ha! Very generous of both of those lads. This video was not here nor there…wait, yes it was, it was here AND there, simultaneously! How did you do that LJ? Enjoy it all my brother, something tells me the Pioneer is going to be worn out before Friday! Peace bro, keep those records and that Northern Hemisphere spinnin'!! D.

  12. Nice 8 tracks from James. I have those. Sometimes when I get bored I just sit here and repair those. its almost a form of meditating to fix those splices and sponges. I use foil tape for the splices and window insulation for the bumbers. Afterwards Im screaming It's Alive! Ive created life again lol. kool stuff from Spud too.—Colin

  13. Wow, now that's some VCLT! Killer 8 tracks from James! I just got 'Draw The Line' a couple months back, love those alt track arrangements for 8 tracks…it's like rediscovering the album in a whole new way (even tho I already knew how much I loved it!). 'News Of The World' was 1 of the 1st 8 tracks I bought when I started collecting 'em…who knew what madness I would get myself into? Splice breaks, pressure pads gone bad, a whole world of heaven and hell lol. Onto Ottavio, holy shit! Now that's a jam packed box filled w/ goodies! Killer Dwarfs! I've heard a few of their tunes (just listened to the s/t album a couple weeks back on YT), def dig 'em. Never see their stuff in the wild here, if I did, I'd prly snag 'em up! Killer Hagar upgrade…LOVE that album! Might have to put it back in rotation. Same w/ Japan! I was just spinning 'Gentlemen Take Polaroids' last night. 'Adolescent' is goin' back in rotation! Rush, KISS…geek away, big bro, I'm right there w/ ya! Laserdisc? Now that's def something u just don't see everyday. 'Isle Of Wight' is def one of The Who's best live performances, hands down my favorite performance of 'Tommy'. Onto my hawkeye (it wouldn't be a lil bro comment w/o it haha), I spot 'Get A Grip' on cassette (can't figure out the rest of 'em…zoom in further for me lol) and I see a classic Maiden vhs playing in the background (wait, are you showing records? whoops! I was caught up in 'Flight Of Icarus'…my bad!). So much more I could say about that killer stack of tunes…looks like the next few weeks of spins are queued up and ready! I gotta get a package out to you…been too long since I've sent anything ur way. W/ the way my spending habits will have to wind down, I might have to get in on some trading action…we'll see. Talk soon, much love! ,,/

  14. Wow, Spuds hooked you up.  Rush Archives…Kiss Originals…with the cards, killer. The Honeymoon Suite is a pretty good album, I would say its their second best. And the Teenage Head. I am not familiar with the band but love the name. I will have to look into Robert Gordon. I am a huge fan of Link Wray and am always looking for his work. Enjoy!

  15. DRAW THE LINE 8-track. Awesome!
I'm an Aero-nut! Love anything Aerosmith related!
That Killer Dwarfs is great! It was their debut.
I love trading. (Speaking of which, sent a package to you today!)

  16. Heh!, I beat everyone to be the first to comment here (unless someone is a couple of mins ahead of me in the viewing, cos you know I will be spending all 9 mins and one glorious second watching this one.) My nephew born yesterday was slightly less than the package Ottavio sent you.    Love Ottavio- a great great guy! I have to comment HERE about the text embedded in your video just THERE! Know what I mean, EH?
Love Japan – Sylvian in particular. Especially his solo work though, I must say. What a pal Ottavio is to you – and vice versa – wonderful to see a friendshio like yeres in the VC.
    Top video.
