Bob and Doug McKenzie in My Bloody Valentine iRiff Sample #1

In the video My Bloody Valentine iRiff Sample #1, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s character is played by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is acted by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as a skit to both please and laugh at stupid Canadian content statutes, the duo became a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The two soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
