In the video My Blue Heaven (1990) Original Trailer [HD], Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of imaginaryfunny Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is created by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as an idea to both please and mock legal Canadian content statutes, the two became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The characters soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
