In the video My Blue Heaven (1990) Steve Martin, Rick Moranis, Joan Cusack, Carol Kane, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of odd Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in 1980. Bob’s part is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although born originally as a skit to both please and make fun of annoying Canadian content statutes, the siblings morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
