In the video My Blue Heaven (1990) – TV Spot 1, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of strange Canadian actors who are responsible for “Great White North”, a program which was streamed on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s character is created by Rick Moranis and the character Doug is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Which was born originally as a sketch to both please and make fun of stupid Canadian content statutes, the siblings morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The pair soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
