In the video My Blue Heaven – Episode 92, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by actor Dave Thomas. It was brought to life originally as filler to both please and mock legal Canadian content laws, the characters grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The pair enetually would become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Based on the life of Henry Hill (renamed Vinnie Antonelli), a mobster who was placed into the witness protection program who you might know from the film Goodfellas. The film follows FBI Agent Barney Coopersmith (Rick Moranis) as he tries to keep Vinnie (Steve Martin) out of trouble while waiting for him to testify for the government.
