In the video ‘My Blue Heaven’ – Michelle Benjamin with Doug McKenzie, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of strange Canadian siblings who hosted “Great White North”, a improv which was featured on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it moved to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by comic Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as a joke to both fulfill and make fun of legal Canadian content laws, the characters grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The pair later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
