Bob’s character is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by comic Dave Thomas. Although made originally as fluff to both satisfy and laugh at dumb Canadian content demands, the siblings became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The pair later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
