In the video My Wednesday Balabusta, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is played by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by Dave Thomas. It was brought to life originally as an idea to both please and makes jokes about legal Canadian content policies, the brothers became a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The pair soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
