Bob and Doug McKenzie in National Movie Review

In the video National Movie Review, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. The character Bob McKenzie is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. It was developed originally as an idea to both fulfill and mock stupid Canadian content legislation, the pair morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
