Bob and Doug McKenzie in NBC (SCTV)

In the video NBC (SCTV), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian family members who starred in “Great White North”, a improv which was introduced on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is performed by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was brought to life originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and make fun of dumb Canadian content rules, the two grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
