Bob’s character is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was developed originally as fluff to both please and makes jokes about network Canadian content policies, the pair morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The pair went on to become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
