Bob and Doug McKenzie in One is Enough
In the video One is Enough, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of made up Canadian siblings who hosted “Great White North”, a segment which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it aired by CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s character is created by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as fluff to both please and laugh at stupid Canadian content statutes, the characters grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The pair soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Catherine O’Hara plays Barbie Summers in SCTV’s 1978 hit comedy One is Enough.

Me.
It's young Moira.
She is unbelievably brilliant.
I wonder if Barbie Sommers knew how to fold in the cheese?
SCTV is one of my comedy touchstones, equal to Monty Python. The quality of the work is timeless. But so much of SCTV's brilliant material is moored to its era's contemporary events. I'm curious how younger folks feel about it. I'll watch some sketches and think that people who have no inkling of the context will not think it's funny or at least hilarious, like I do.
This is me since March 2020.
Touchdowwwwwn!
She’s so funny.
She's gonna get whiplash with those hair flips.
Buy some more Valium…
nice gambs.
Man Catherine was smoking hot!
Pre-Lola?
Proves that Catherine O’Hara can handle any mediocre sctv skit idea.
I think it's a reference to the Suzanne Sommers contract dispute with ABC, when she was going to leave Threes Company and start a new show by herself
this was about absurdity ; that a hot chick like this would ever be alone in a city of horny guys
