Bob and Doug McKenzie in ONTARIO RACES CATHERINE O’HARA & DAVE THOMAS (1989)

In the video ONTARIO RACES CATHERINE O’HARA & DAVE THOMAS (1989), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of imaginaryfunny Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a sketch which was featured on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it was aired on CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s part is acted by Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was created originally as a sketch to both fulfill and mock silly Canadian content statutes, the pair became a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The pair soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
