Bob and Doug McKenzie in Ontario Racing “Dave Thomas” Commercial – 1986

In the video Ontario Racing “Dave Thomas” Commercial – 1986, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian siblings who can been seen in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by Dave Thomas. The sketch was developed originally as a sketch to both satisfy and make fun of silly Canadian content demands, the siblings became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The characters soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
