Bob and Doug McKenzie in Pamela Wallin Live: Dave Thomas talks about his book, SCTV Behind The Scenes
In the video Pamela Wallin Live: Dave Thomas talks about his book, SCTV Behind The Scenes, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug is acted by Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as a sketch to both satisfy and make fun of annoying Canadian content rules, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Wallin is a great interviewer
What year was this recorded?
I can understand Dave taking pride in Eugene's Perry Como thing. That was definitely one of the funniest moments in SCTV history.
This was great!
One of these two people is a talented, ingenious comedic giant…the other is a hack who used her celebrity to mooch off taxpayers in the Can. senate. See if you can guess which is which…(where's Bill Needle when you need him?) Great book, btw. Must read for any SCTV fan…
