Bob and Doug McKenzie in Parenthood (1989) “How Proud You Must Be”

In the video Parenthood (1989) “How Proud You Must Be”, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hilarious Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s part is acted by Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although made originally as a skit to both satisfy and laugh about dumb Canadian content statutes, the brothers morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The two went on to become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
