In the video Parenthood – “Extra Effort” – Rick Moranis x Ivyann Schwan x Harley Jane Kozak, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a show which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s character is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as a joke to both please and make fun of stupid Canadian content policies, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The brothers became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
