In the video Parenthood – “How Proud” – Rick Moranis x Mary Steenburgen x Harley Jane Kozak, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a program which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it moved to CBC Television in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as a joke to both fulfill and laugh at stupid Canadian content demands, the two morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The characters soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
