Starring Steve Martin,Rick Moranis and Keanu Reeves., Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian comedians who starred in “Great White North”, a skit which was featured on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it moved to CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob’s character is acted by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and make fun of dumb Canadian content rules, the characters transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the US. The characters later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
