In the video Parenthood – “Sponge” – Rick Moranis x Steve Martin x Ivyann Schwan, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian actors who can been seen in “Great White North”, a sketch which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s part is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is created by comic Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously created originally as fluff to both fulfill and laugh about legal Canadian content laws, the pair became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
