In the video PASSPORT 2017 / DRINKS / BOB & DOUG’S STRANGE BREW, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a show which was televised on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob’s part is performed by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as a skit to both please and make fun of non sensical Canadian content laws, the siblings transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The characters soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
