The character Bob McKenzie is played by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as fluff to both satisfy and laugh at network Canadian content demands, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The characters soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
