Bob and Doug McKenzie in Pee Wee’s Christmas Special Opening Song

In the video Pee Wee’s Christmas Special Opening Song, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of fictional Canadian family members who can been seen in “Great White North”, a sketch which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob McKenzie is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as filler to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content guidelines, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The brothers enetually would become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
