In the video Pizza Hut commercial, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hysterical Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a improv which was aired on second city television for the show’s third season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s part is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by actor Dave Thomas. Despite made originally as a skit to both satisfy and make fun of silly Canadian content rules, the duo turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The brothers became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
