In the video Pizza Hut ‘Soccer” Commercial (1979), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian comedians who created “Great White North”, a improv which was introduced on second city television for the show’s third season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s part is performed by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously born originally as fluff to both satisfy and mock stupid Canadian content guidelines, the pair turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Love this commercial. Love how it’s light outside the whole time till the end.
Michael Bell was a great voice-over talent. He always had this light, youthful quality to his work that made his commercials really stand out from those using deep-voiced announcers.
