Bob and Doug McKenzie in Polar Bear Churchill, The Great White North

In the video Polar Bear Churchill, The Great White North, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian family members who created “Great White North”, a improv which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s character is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as a joke to both fulfill and laugh at legal Canadian content statutes, the siblings morphed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the United States. The characters later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
