In the video Police: Actor Rick Moranis Punched While Walking On Upper West Side, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of fictional Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. The character Bob McKenzie is played by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as fluff to both please and make fun of stupid Canadian content guidelines, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The pair became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
