Police investigating an “unprovoked” attack on actor have arrested a man on suspicion of assault. The Ghostbusters star, 67, was punched in the head and knocked to the ground while walking close to New York City’s Central Park last month. Moranis was admitted to hospital for an evaluation but a representative for the star later insisted he was doing “fine”. Cops subsequently ced the attack “random” and “unprovoked” as they launched an appeal for information. Police in the Big Apple have now detained Marquis Ventura, 35, who is believed to be homeless, on suspicion of assault in the second degree. Sgt. Anwar Ishmael of the NYPD said Ventura was detained on Saturday by transit officers in the subway system in Manhattan. The force confirmed the arrest in a tweet which read: “Thanks to an eagle-eyed sergeant from @NYPDTransit, this suspect has been apprehended and charged.” The attack on Moranis was captured on CCTV.
