Bob and Doug McKenzie in Portrait of Rick Moranis

In the video Portrait of Rick Moranis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian brothers who created “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously created originally as filler to both follow guidelines and laugh at silly Canadian content guidelines, the pair transformed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The pair later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
