In the video Pre-SCTV circa ’75 John Candy on Police Surgeon, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of odd Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a sketch which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob McKenzie is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously developed originally as an idea to both please and laugh at non sensical Canadian content demands, the two transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
